Default I love my friends....

.....Yeah... so I let my buddy borrow my car for a day... a day, I had like 11k miles on the car.... anyway that's besides the point. When I got it back from him the only thing I could smell for 2 entire days was clutch, I didn't catch onto what it was at first (don't ask how, I know I should've recognized it right away) but after figuring it out I took the car straight to the shop. Now I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but that's the same thing I thought, the guy at the shop called me and told me that my entire clutch was destroyed, and that my flywheel was pretty much done. I couldn't believe him and he told me to come down and look at it, so I did. The clutch was done as he said, it was charred, and stained purple from burning. The flywheel had no groove on it anymore, they couldn't even shave it down and reconstruct it... I asked him how it happened (because I don't drive like sh*t). He told me that either someone burned out a whole hell of alot, or drove by only using 3rd and 4th gear. I asked him if it was possible to do that in a day, he said he's seen it happen alot. So now I'm stuck without a car till thursday (I know two days whatever) a bill for $1,200 not to mention it's the holidays.... needless to say I'm glad I didn't get a rental because I'd be at old boys house that I let borrow my car kicking some ***.... and I don't need to get arrested..... again. Yeah, love my friends.... I'll post pics of a destroyed clutch and flywheel when I get a chance just in case anyones curious.

Ummm, I knew he did stupid things, but I didn't think he'd do anything dumb in my car especially since I was doing him a huge favor. His car was in the shop from him rear-ending some lady, and he was having a hard time, women issues and all, and some other things, and I figured I'd be a nice guy..... bad choice...

Damn. Sorry to hear about the damage. That really sucks. This is way I never let anyone else drive my car. Neither freinds or family.

Btw, since your having replace the entire clutch and flywheel, did you look into replacing it with the Comptech set-up?

If I were you, I would seriously re-evaluate the term "buddy" in regards to your douche comrade that f-ed your clutch up. Hope you don't get to screwed with the bill cuz, it's time for him to pay up.

Some things are easily brushed off, but $1,200 in damages to your vehicle in a period of 24 hours is not. He should at the VERY LEAST assume partial financial responsibility.

My dad drives my car on occasion and i tell him if he wrecks, he had better total it because I AM getting a new one.

Doesn't sound like a friend if he didn't at least offer some money.

Okay, so about the flywheel, just hit up google and type in Fidanza, it'll come up with it's website. I'm still working on checking out the clutch... oh and he didn't offer up any money, and yeah I should reconsider who I call a friend.

Tires looked more worn than usual, not necessarily torn up... but on the border line of torn up and worn. And yeah there was rubber on the fenderwells... I didn't find it, my repair guy did.

If he doesn't pay up, you should wear out the clutch on his girlfriend... haha jk (not really)

Sorry to hear your friend sucks, i duno what its like in Illinois but if you can prove he did that and get testimony by the mechanic, small claims court would help force him to pay the bill.

Hah, thanks for the advice, I might take up the girlfriend bit, but I don't have time to take him to court. With work, school and all. Plus my other car is going to be in the shop for a while so I'm car less.
