I got pulled over the other day because I had a headlight out. Now my headlight isn't exactly out, one is just signifigantly dimmer than the other. It isn't the bulbs, I have recently replace both and tried them both on each side. I got down in the socket where the bulb goes and cleaned it out with electrical cleaner and even added some gel to help conductivity. However for some reason one of my bulbs is just not lighting a brightly as the other. 92 Civic Hatchback by the way. Any thoughts?

 

relay and or you have a bad socket for your light.

 

check the relays, fuses, etc...

if all else fails.. you might just have to rewire it.

to rewire it get some relays, and some 18-16ga wire or if you want to run some really "hot" halogen bulbs.. 14-12 ga wire, some ring terminals, and some heatshrink tubing.
