Don't worry about it... If a motor is damaged after revving to a measley 4,000 RPM, something is wrong.

im just conser about long lasting if it affects it or not because the car was damn cold plus reving thats where i think its bad since no oil has had enough time to travel ( warm up ) so i was wondering if it ***** up as far as long lasting

So many typos and bad sentence structure. Please make your posts more understandable and easier to follow.

yeah i know it doesnt sound like bad but since it was cold metal against metal? im not those hard modders that strip the car and swap engines , if it was running or it was warm i'd be less worried especially since its my first car.

If for some reason you do have a problem, bring it to your dealership. I had a similar experience and was worried about it. Everything will be ok

The limiter on the FG1 is 6800 or so. You have absolutely nothing to be worried about. You could sit there and bounce off the rev limiter for 15 seconds or more and nothing would happen... but I don't recommend it.

The limiter is there for a reason. It's when you go beyond the limiter... that's when things get interesting

Cold metal to metal? It's warm before you can even move the car. Of course not fully warmed up which you should be doing for at least 30 seconds.

Just need some periods to determine when a new sentence starts. That's all. Just giving you a hard time.

Also, I agree with what everyone else is posting, your car is fine.

That's me, but I wasn't scared because as soon as it hits I shift. Granted I do not intend to even hit the limiter though. Enjoy the hell out of your car, it is a great one.

i only ready about half the replies. So if im repeating info or not understanding something correctly just ignore me.

What you probably did is hit the rev limiter for when you are sitting still... I would imagine that the *X models do not share the same 5,500 rev limiter that the Si does when sitting still. Either way, if you let it run for 30 seconds there would have been enough lubrication to prevent any damage from just 4k rpm for that short a period. I cranked my car up and revved it to 4 for a couple minutes just to warm it up for a quick drive with my prelude buddy.
