Default Ebay Headgasket Kit?

I'm going to go about replacing the headgasket while I have the engine apart, but need this done soon so I can smog before the 30th. (I already have the engine apart) I went into autozone/kragen and they both want $170+ for a headgasket kit. Ebay has some for around $50, obviously I'm trying to save money, because I'm already in quite a bit since I'm changing timing belt, water pump, belts, head studs. Are the gasket sets sold on ebay any good?

I was going to buy it from prostreetonline.com but they are out and I need this asap.

or ?

not bad at all for the price, as long as you torque everything down to spec it should work great. I might look into buy a kit like that as well.

hmm...do some research on the gasket company themselves. if it's just joe shmoe company that just started out and no part store is carrying them, then don't risk it.

Very true, i'm going to check into that right now. The seller seems pretty legit, with only one negative feedback about a computer he never sold.

Yeah I wouldnt if you cant get that info. I dont remember spending anywhere near 180 for that stuff from honda. Of course I didnt buy it as a "kit". I bought the HG ($50 I think its been awhile) seperate. The valvecover ($20 something) stuff seperate and the manifold gaskets seperate ($20 each or some ****...agains it been awhile). that seems like a GREAT deal......almost TOO great a deal.

I wouldnt trust it. But then again it could be a really good kit for the price. You cant go wrong for $50. I say get it and keep an eye on it.

dude you guys realize most headgaskets from honda are only about 50 bucks right? And even if they're a little more, do you really want to risk all that work just for a few bucks?

I would just stick w/ Honda parts. Not worth it when talking about your engine and other significant parts.
