It would look good with big rims, tinted windows, and slammed to the ground.

Those tranny problems stretched from 99-03?...not sure on the end year and i also think it affected the S model more. My bro has a 99 TL with 125K miles on it with the og tranny still.

To the op:
You'll be happy with it! Its comfy as hell with enough to power to have some fun.

Nice car, my dad has one, I love it.

Tranny problems affected all of that Generation of TL's. Acura has extended warranty on the transmissions to 100k miles because of it.

Some have been through quite a few trannies, and some have broke 100k without any signs of failure.

I guess its not the previous owners responsibility to tell you about recalls but yes there was and is a recall on the transmissions. Search Google / Yahoo or visit the Acura TL owners website (Acurazine) for all the information. I had a 03 Type-S and it was a nightmare (nothing like being stranded on Interstate 81 in freezine weather with over 150 miles to the nearest Honda / Acura dealer), although not all the cars had the problem but good luck either way. They have no resale value when they get up around 100k because that is when the recall / warrany expires

The tranny problems are all covered under a 100k mile warranty, some even extended to 115k or 150k.
