b16a questions..already in the car and running but just a few questions
Ok I got a b16a in my car and the swap is up and running with no codes...I noticed how ever when driving sometimes it feels like it stumbles when crusing but if I get on it it seems to go away. Im assuming its the old cap, rotor, wires, plugs. So my first question is
1.Do I get those parts for a 92 GSR or get a cap for a 91ls and wires and plugs for
a 92GSR?
2.My 3rd gear has a slight grind when in the upper rpms no matter how easy I
shift it. Now at the time of the swap I only had 10 30 laying around for the tranny. Should I get Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh? and how much do I need to fill a completely drained tranny.
3.Why is it when the car is cold and the clutch is pushed in the rpms go up around 100rpms and when I let off the clutch when in N when the engine is cold the rpms drop as if there is resistance....is my throw out bearing bad? There is no odd noise that a usualy indicates a bad throwout bearing. Need help on this one...
Thanks guys

Wow dude I have the EXACT same 3 issues with my car! I just did my swap 1 week ago and I have since changed cap, rotor and spark plugs and it STILL does the cruising throttle hesitating thing. BTW the cap and rotor are from a 90-91 Integra and spark plugs for a 1995 Del Sol DOHC VTEC. My next step is 2 )2 sensors and hopefully that fixes it. Tell me if when you do these things if it fixes your car.
he's right about the spark plugs but if you order them from a autozone or advanced auto type place and theres a idiot behind the counter they'll give you delsol si (sohc vtec) plugs...so just say 2000 civic si..stress "si"
for the 3rd gear grind alot of the older tranny's have that problem..sometimes changing out with new fresh honda fluid does the trick,,,but sometimes you have to use the snycromesh to hide the grind,,you can use the pennzoil from autozone its about $5 a bottle and the same stuff as the gm fluid....it's about 2.5 qts to fill up.
for your 3rd question my car does that to,i dont know why and its been like that for a year,,and i already replaced all the bearings,,pilot, throwout, and main input shaft bearing...so i dont know,
