Just needed some info and ideas on what can be the problem is.

I bought a car as a fixer. the car was flooded last year. and they said the engine is siezed. but my buddy and I got it Running. and alot of rusty water came out of the Exhaust. and blew out white smoke for awhile. But it drives fine now, and starts right up. But it overheats.

First time i notice the car overheated- the resovore tank was bubbling and look like the cap was about to bust.
Changed out the Thermostat- still same problem

And it seem like the fan doesnt turn on. Im checked the relay and fuse. but it came out fine. so Im going to change that out from my other hatch.

Any ideas? Can it be the Head Gasket?

 

I woudl say its the head gasket... if the resovore was bubbling over...good luck

 

Thanks bro. Im gonna check the fan tomorrow. and if all fails. Im gonna get that HeadGasket Replaced.

could always try wiring a switch to the fan and seeing if that helps ur overheating problem.. perhaps ur wiring got messed up in the flood...

 

If its the headgasket you will notice a milky white residue under the oil cap

I will check that tomorrow when i go mess with the car. I recently changed the oil. But will the white residue still show up?

 

Yeah bubbling tank is almost 100% a head gasket problem.

 

I just swapped out the Fan today. It doesnt overheat anymore.
But im getting a CEL P0505. - im gonna clean out the IACV tomorrow.
