a new look at the valve cover
Aluminum doesn't tarnish but it does oxidize (known as rust when in question of iron). Funny thing though, Aluminum oxide is actually harder than aluminum and therefore stronger. Sorry for the random info, I'm studying for a chem test.

Ever seen what bare aluminum does when left exposed to the weather? It gets like these white powdery spots all over it and looks terrible.

Its fairly expensive, but probably the best stuff for bare aluminum. Ofcourse clear anodizing is good too.....but its a much more complex process to do it properly.
