Default A new 2.5 inch exhaust I designed

Hey i went to the local muffler shop with the intention of quieting down my exhaust and this is what happened. A guy just dropped off a evo 2 he no longer wanted, and i snagged it. here's what i did with the exhaust routing

then i wrapped the part that went under the gas tank to keep the fuel from heating

and here's another look before i wrapped it

You are probably going to cook your RR ABS harness. How does it sound without a resonator?

I dont like the low hanging exhaust, but props to you for doing something outside the box. BTW, I have your tag # now....not as if it matters.

The ABS harness will not be a problem. The wire is inside a metal shield right there near the exhaust pipe, and the exhaust pipe at that location doesn't really get all that hot anyway, at least nowhere near as hot as the catalytic convertor does.

But anyway that looks pretty good. Ground clearance looks alright. Just curious, is the car lowered? Any overall shots of the car?

Personally I'd say it looks kind of ghetto, and probably doesn't help much for performance considering it's crush-bent.

fyi there is absolutely nothing wrong with heating up fuel, as long as the pipe doesn't come into contact with the tank.

too bad a lot of shops (around me, nearest one is in bakersfield, about 250 mi away) dont have mandrel benders because they cost upwards of $75,000, the better machines cost over $150k. I suppose you could use pre-bent pieces and cut and weld.

x3. crush bent sucks. that's why 95% of these 'custom' exhausts are worthless; the bends are crushed. its gonna suck when that car gets lowered; that exhaust is gonna be 1" off the ground.

if a theif lived in the area, he could get your home address by running your plate through the dmv.

and? If a theif lived in the area he would see the plate anyway. You can't blur it out in real life while driving around obviously.

Also a theif could just follow him to his house and find out where he lives.

i'm sure every theif in his area doesn't know of every single modified honda/acura there is around. he's opening himself up for being targeted by more people that way. if he doesn't care then it doesn't matter.

imo crush bent or mandrel bent the difference in gains is so insignificant it doesnt matter, what matters more is of pipe path and size
