What exhausts/mufflers are you guys rocking? Will an Apexi WS Sport really hurt my HP?

I usually run 2.5 custom piping from the header's 2.5 collector through a Maganaflow 2.5 high flow resonator out to a 2.25 or 2.5 high flow muffler and the sound level is always too high for the police (not me ;-).
With my new build, I was thinking of getting a brand name catback like the World Sport. I've read that the sound level is almost stock until you get on it but that it also holds back some ponies becuase of the muffler's chambered design.
I don't mind trading some ponies to protect my wallet from the police.

I agree with the guy above. Mugens are dope for daily driven cars. But for the money I dont think that the Apexi will hurt your power too bad, at least not enough to really notice.
But then again, maybe it will.
400-500 for complete system vs. 700 ish for just a tail section.
I am looking at the WS for myself for the price.

Thanks for the responses...still want more feedback
I also like the GReddy Evo II exhaust system with a high flow catalytic converter. It is very throaty, mild, and at the same time sounds/looks incredible many applications. It's also relatively less expensive.

I run the WS catback on my civic. It has a nice sound, pretty quiet. When you get on it, you hear more engine/intake noise which sounds good compared to the loud *** exhausts most cars have...
I never dynoed with this exhaust, but if it costs me a couple HP, I dont mind because I can get on it whenever and it doesnt attract alot of attention...

I went with a 3" Dynomax Super Turbo to try to go for the "quieter" route.
I don't know how I like it. When I first start up the car and in cooler weather it makes me really happy. It's volume is something like that of my old RS*R Exmag. On that basis, its a great "quiet" setup, and makes me a really happy guy.
But when the hot exhaust gases start to flow, especially when its hot out, it gets quite loud, almost as loud as the old 2.5" Magnaflow from before. Within 15 minutes of driving around (less on the highway) I'm not so happy anymore.
I wish I could figure out if its the muffler's fault, or the unknown-brand 30" resonator under the car. Or maybe both?

it kinda sucks.

custom 3 in. with 2 resonators and a muffler. Quiet enough for daily driving, but rowdy enough to let people know you're packing.

i would run this design (straight through, but gets muffled twice
) ......there is a mugen twin loop which i think people were refering to earlier in the thread.....only problem with the mugen and jdmcarboy is that the inlet is 2.25"
obx however makes a copy with a 2.5" inlet and the same 3" outlet and you can find it for pretty cheap on ebay

HKS Hi-Power sounds the best to me. The apex and greddy are just a little to high pitched. get whatever you like. FU$%! the police if they dont like how it sounds.

I been told about the dynomax. Do you know of a good web site to purchase one?

I purchased mine from advance auto, if not you can probably try summit.

I am in the same boat as you OP. I want something to give me power, but not attracting attention but at the same time a nice sounding exhaust. I was going to get a T1R but funds fell short at the time of the sale due to unexpected expenses. I also love the fujitsubo but that cost more $$$ than the T1R. I saw in the sponsor section they had the WS2 for only 420 shipped. I would get it but it hurts too much in the hp area. I am stumped on what to get.

all i know is that when i ran my car w/ full rsr exmag the car ran a best of 13.1 (low to mid 13's all day) when i ran open header only one pass and ran a 12.8 (but this was is 2003) a longs time ago
also never got the chance to dyno the car....
