HELP. Lost my car keys, only red key left
Hello
When i bought my Euro Integra typ R, i got a black key and the special red one from the owner ( he already lost one
..)
So now I lost the other one and I have only the red key left.
Is it possible to recreate one or 2 new car keys with only the red one? I asked my dealer and he told me that it would cost me around 600 euro and that I had to wait for over 2 - 3 weeks because they need to be done in Japan?
I couldnt believe that ?! Is that true? or am i beeing screwed?
Thanks alot
Luc

Go to another honda dealer as that one is talking out his ***. The red key is a master key used to make new keys and they shouldnt cost more than 80 to 100euro to get a new one. A lot of locksmiths now have specialised equipment that can create new keys if you have the original one, they basically code a new key from your red master key.
Do not try and start your car with the red key as you'll fry the imobiliser and you'll have to replace the whole imobilser/ignition...suposedly!
