Default Average price for a b-series build?

Whats the average price for a b-series build?
I calculated about $4,000 just for parts and about another 2k for machine work with new guides. So a total of 6-7k?

Thanks,
Phil

No way we can make an avg price as some are full race cars that are torn down every 20 passes to others are cheap but well thought out budget bruisers to everywhere in between.

I guess I should have specified. This is a street build. Your answer wasn't exactly helpful.

Depends on your goals, really. What do you want out of it?

bone stock jdm itr is around 4500. its the only engine that people would actually buy the parts so you can buy mods and sell the stockers.

for a good all oem ls/vtec you could spend around 1000 to 2500 depending on what you pay for the block and head.

for a 230whp and higher you could spend 4500-5500 using some good used parts.

Well just to say the average price of a b series build have gone down a bit due to more company catching on making copies of other companies products as well as more parts are coming out for the b series so prices are marked down for competition. Just say prices are spread from the year 02 to present. 2002 was when having a gsr swap and running 14.7 was fast. Parts have come a long ways then.

Yeah, I figured, thats why I tried to be more specific.
I have a gsr engine I wanted to fully build and I was talking about the engine internals including the head. I'm not worried about cost of a port job as I have that covered.

Well it all depends on your conections and everything... I bouth my B18a block for my ls/vtec off a junk yard for 75 bucks. everbody was making fun of me saying " ohh he's got the junk yard special built motor and **** like that." but guess what it all depends on what you wanna do, how you wanna do it and who's gonna build the motor...
Make up your mind and tell us the real thing How much WHP you wanna make????
