Setting Camshafts to TDC for piston #1?
Right now my camshaft is about an inch off the number one holder where you put a 5 mm pin punch in to hold it in place, my question is how do i spin the camshaft to get these hole to line up?
What you do is set your motor at TDC and eyeball the cam gear to the valley on your cam holders and once your close then set the pins in the holes on the cam holder and line it up like your shooting a gun.
You should be good form there slide you timing belt on and check to see if your distributor rotor is lined up with the #1 wire.

14mm wrench on the cam gear bolt should turn it right over. If it/they dont turn freely make sure your cam caps are on correctly (pointing towards the timing belt, #2 closest to the timing belt and #4 closest to the tranny).
is your timing belt still on? if so.. take the dist. cap off and keep turning the crank counter clockwise until the rotor is pointing to the 1st spark plug and the dash marks on the cam gears are side by side, and the arrows are pointing up.
The head is currently off the car right now, i dont think it was set to TDC when it was taken apart hence the camshaft nor the arrow on the cam line up right.
Is it possible for me to use the cam gear bolt to spin the camshaft a little bit?
I want to have this at TDC so when i went to take apart the head that is in the runnign car right now, i could just set that one to TDC then put this one on

Yea, thats a hopeless cause. They're going to turn. On top of that, if you have a vtec head, you've gotta take the cams out to put the head bolts in.

So can i use the cam gear bolt to turn the camshaft?
Im aware that i would have to take the camshaft off to install the headstud but i jsut want the head to be TDC so i can just swapped this head in and slide the timing belt back on and done deal.
I dont want to have to deal with lining up all the line and everything if i dont have to
