Default JDM License Plates, rice or nice?

I personally think that JDM license plates are rice. Those who oppose--do so!

I think it's cool, except that you can't run them on the street, well you can, but you know.

I don't see how its' rice. Not just because it's JDM, but it's unique. Some on here think everythings rice if it doesn't make it go faster. Well, I don't. I understand not making an R flashy to avoid attention on our cars, but I think stock looks too plain. I like to add a visual flair. ****, if volks weighed the same as stock, would that be rice, because you didn't save weight? I think they look sweet as well as being functional.

I dont' think it's rice anymore than a JDM shift boot, which I like, it matches the seats. If you want a stock look, more power too you, but I don't see why you feel the need to call the plates rice. Our cars came from Japan, and it's kind of another gift for the car from it's homeland.

Lame.

For years I've seen European cars with European front plates. I think that's lame too.

Hmm..never thought about that, I dont' like that either.

Taste is just that, you have yours I have mine. I don't see the point in Person A getting all fired up over something Person B likes just because Person A doesn't like the same thing.

Rice can pretty much mean anything.

Rice can be sportin' something that you don't have, eg: the infamous Type R example.

Pretty much any APC product.

Eye Disturbing Yellow/Green color combinations with various 'VTEC' or 'Powered By' stickers.

AND having a JDM license plate on a US car. JDM parts are very cool, some of them are way better than USDM, but, come on now, why don't we all just drive on the left-side of the road?

License plates, in general, are a symbol of the facist oppression under which we live.

Although the US Constitution does not guarrantee me the right to drive or conduct commerce... I think it falls into "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" as my unalienable rights.

Oh... and in answer to your question... If you get those, you're a ricer tool. But that's just my opinion.

Have a nice day!

To me saying JDM plates are rice are basically like saying anything but your state plates on your car is rice and the includes all the football, religion, college, and sayings vanity type plates. I for one don't think there rice at all as long your state doesn't require front and back plates.

Also if someone doesn't like the facist oppression they live under then move to another country.

If you look at the whole picture with different country license plates then yes, you are right. BUT if you look at it in the import enthusiast scene you will know that it is indeed rice.

JDM is where it started--everybody wants it, it's the new thing. It used to be about getting rare parts that yielded performance because we couldn't get them in our cars. NOW it's been commercialized and pretty much EVERYTHING JDM is cool.

Look on Ebay, even things that aren't JDM are listed as JDM because the seller(s) know that people will search for items with the words containing JDM.

If it is a geniune Japanese plate where the plate was issued for that particular type of car, it could be "ricey" but it wouldn't be completely rice it's real.

If it's one of those knockoffs, it's definitely rice.

If you put either one of those on the front of your car in plate of the one your are supposed to legally have, you are a "JDM" riceboy and deserve to get a pulled over.

Speaking of JDM and rice, I spotted this in the new JC Whitney catalog:

"JDM Valvecovers: OEM Styling for your Acura or Honda Engine!

Complete your car's "look" with a Japanese OEM valvecover. Japanese domestic market heavy cast aluminum with authentic bright red finish (also blue for Prelude) and large raised logo. Easy to install"

Funny thing is that the pictured valvecover for the 92-01 Integra LS, RS, GSR VTEC with the DOHC B16 and 18 motors is identical to the one found on the B18C5.
No on it. (uh, no B17?---dur)

Yeah, way to make the world a better place: Give up.

Sorry, but the "love it or leave it" argument reeks of BS. We live in a country where private citizens can influence the position of our government, or at least that's what they tell us. So those of us who are dissatisfied can actually do something about that which we dislike (imagine that). Even if it's only who you vote for. I for one will stay here, imperfections and all, and try to change things for the better.
