i need a tranny to bolt up to a 91 ls teg b18 and didnt think if my five speed from my sohc would work so will it

 

91 LS = B series
SOHC = D series, sorry not gonna work

You have a wide selection of trans for the B series but only a few cable trans you have the option to switch to hydro if you want to

Few cable trans:

LS cable trans - I think the USDM are A1 and YS1, cheapest option, I have seen them from $100-$300 depending on year and condition

GSR cable trans - also YS1, this in the USDM 92-93 DA GSRs pretty hard to find but one of, if not the best cable trannys

B16 cable trans - gotta looke to JDM land for these J1/S1/Y1/YS1 (I believe) all similar some had a little tighter gear and some had optional LSDs your gonna pay for these trans but maybe you can find one cheap

oh and 90-91 and 92+ hav a different input shaft and use different clutch disks keep this in mind when looking for a trans, I believe all B16 trans are the 90-91 type...

Do a google search for Honda B series trans and you can find tons of info, there is even grids floating around with the gear and stuff

 

you can use a b-series (b16 sir, ls, gsr, type r, crv) hydro tranny if you get the innovative or hasport hydro to cable conversion.
