92 si eg hatch, just put on skunk 2 header back exhaust, now get a popping sound when shifting, was told that it could be the muffler doing this beacuse there is nothing restricting the air flow and builds up in the muffler explaing the popping...would this be true and is that the thing called "afterfire"???

Yeah i have a b16 with vibrant header and rsr gt2 exhaust it backfires all the time do not worry about it. There is just nothing to dampen the exhaust pulses i have no cat no resonator.
