My "EK" is back y'all...She's back!!
Ok so here it is...the thread some of you have been asking for, some have been waiting for and some don't give two ***** about haha. A friends and people have seen the pics. A few close friends have seen the progress in person. But here is the culmination of all of the secrecy and weirdness haha...
On August 18th, 2006 I was involved in a traffic accident. I am not gonna get into details about that. But it was stupidity on my part and that left me in a position of loosing my Hollie forever, or making her badder than ever. And by bad, I mean good, you know how sick is not sick like the flu, or SARS, but like sick is like...daaaayyymmmm ya hurrd me??...hahaha so yeah, here we go.
I am not gonna post pics of how Hollie was before the accident as I mean we all know, and there are pictures floating around beyond and Honda Tech. But I will post how she looked after the collision and the process of rebuilding her, the processes, the hard work put in by Dan, and Dave at Screamin Paintworks. Before I do go ahead and post these pics though, I would like to thank Dan and Dave. They put up with my questions, my numerous visits to take pics. Waiting on my lazy *** to get parts to them, and did I mention all the questions I had along the way?? I was a lil worried that at one point Dan was gonna be like "Get out of my shop!!" But, he was a trooper and for that and for the, hard work, and for the end result of Hollie's transformation I thank him.
Here are the pics...
These are pics of the aftermath of the collision. They really don't show the severity of the impact...as a few friends can attest to seeing the car in person after...but yeah. This is what got the ball rolling. It was a busted headlight, crumpled hood, bent rad support. And because of the hood getting messed up, it affected the fenders as well.

Here the new rad support was installed and clamped on for placement and waiting for a lil tacking. I am not gonna focus on that part of the repair in this thread...I have a ton of pics I snapped, but the purpose essentially of the project was the rust repair. So we will have more of a following of that procedure.

And then here is the front ready and waiting for the rest of the car to be finished...

At one of the first discussions Dan and I had we were kind of both hoping that the rear 1/4 panel rust we both knew was there, would be able to be patched up. For two reasons mainly. First off, I wanted the car back for October 7th for SCC and secondly, to reduce the shock to EK 2.0's wallet haha...But as most of us here know...it NEVER works out that way haha...his was how the drivers 1/4 panel looked after taking away a bit of the paint and some body filler....

So, Dan informs me of this...and what does Arif do?? Decides...expletive it, let's replace both 1/4's...haha...Arif is MUY LOCO mang!! And that brings us here...

What's that you ask on the Honda box??...Well, there were two boxes and they contained...

And...

Wowsahs!!...New OEM!! So Dan then sighed the biggest sigh ever, shook his head, and got to cutting haha...

But Dan, he kept working and finally uncovered what we both knew was there, but didn't want to acknowledge haha...

and I figured...hey since I am essentially getting rid of Hollie's cancer, why not the body hair too??...So, we shaved...Yeah got rid of her antenna.

And so...Dan started to put Hollie back together...Drivers 1/4 in place ready for welding...

And needless to say...we did the same to the passenger side...I say "we" like I was there doing the work haha...But, nope...I wasn't haha.

And then...started making Hollie pretty again. Primered as so Dan can start pulling and fixing any dents or imperfections...

Dan said the body was pretty strait, no real issues aside from the roof having a dish to it. But Dan my man, took care of that for Hollie. Then...the spraying started. I decided, (and Dan can attest to this) after a LOT of different colours and combinations (Man I wanted Arctic Camo, John Deere Green, Silver, Black, Flat Black, Piano Gloss Black, Red, Yellow, Blue, Imola Red, Grey, I even wanted to keep it just primier after I saw how that looked.), to keep the Championship White for a few reasons. It's a clean colour, my engine bay is already that shade, it and looks sooo sharp. Plus as richardchan2001 would say OEM FTW haha. Dan sprayed the door jambs as well as the rear hatch area (which was covered in undercoating) for me.

And then...Friday the 1st of December I get a call from the body shop. And Dan informs me that my baby is sprayed. The trim, mirrors, front and rear bumpers, side skirts and lips are not done yet, but the car is sprayed. And that if I wanted to come down and bring my "Kodak" then I should. So of course I do, and this is what I see...

And in the booth at the same time was a piano...or was it??

No it wasn't...it was my black roof...haha...

And now starting to go back together...Man it's been a long time...but all the little touches, and ideas are starting to come together (thanks to Dan)...
My Valve Cover...

And then assembled but in need of a wash...

Once again...thank you ever so much to Dan and Dave at...

by cutting the 1/4 panels like that, does it affect structural rigidity or anything like that?
