JDM Stuff
The car is from Japan and has everything JDM on it pretty much. So if you think about it I have it most likely, with the exception of some JDM Honda Access parts like trunk mat, rain visors checkered mats etc.

Just wondering how much my car is worth. Not planning on selling it but have to talk to the insurance company soon and get another appraisal for it because they are being dingleberries.

Currently its appraised at about $17750US by my insurance company. They made me make a list of the value of parts and get that list confirmed by 2 indipendant shops that specialise in Japanese parts and automotive performance stuff. So when I broke it down with the cost of a stock SiR from Japan it came to about $20,000US and they gave me the coverage for $17,750US. Just making sure that sounds about right.

just because it has 17k worth of parts doesnt mean somebody is going to pay that amount for a crx. you could probably get 10k for it

I think I'd definitely hang onto that insurance company if I were you.

 

Well I see it's in Ca so it woudn't be worth much to us Yanks. But if It were down here and had the glass roof, I could see it fetch between $9-12k without all that stereo junk.
Oh one more thing......that would be an eBay price.

 

yea 8-10 sad but true the aftermarket value is just not reflective of a cars worth

I gotta agree with that, the car is nice but it would be a struggle to get half (10000 cdn) of that if you sold it

Dude im a car salesman there is no way in hell u r going to get more than 9k for that car. by the way aftermarket mods dont always raise the value of a car it can drop the value as well. Put a fully built k24 turbo with all wheel drive crv drive train in it and paint the car out of pure gold and u might get 17k for it.

Ya Im going to take advice from someone with 17 posts, obviously has limited knowledge about the rarity of EF8 parts expecially from companies like Mugen and Spoon over myself who owns the car and knows a lot about it.

I know the car is not worth like $20K US. Thats just what the insurance company wanted me to find out last time. Then they docked it about $2500 US and gave me the insured value. Im covered with Aviva group out of Toronto. They only do fleet policies and I have the car covered under my dad's company's fleet. Theyve never done a JDM car before so they didnt know how to aproach it so they told me to do it this way. Im just asking the value to make sure that Im not getting screwed over.

honestly...... 7,500-10,000 if i were to buy it.

 

Replacement value (wich is insurance) is not representative of the resale value.
That being said, cars, especially with parts, are always worth more when parted out. Wich is how you came to the 17 grand anyway...adding up all the seperate parts.

But unless it's registered in the US, it's worth exactly nothing in US dollars. I would focus more on the canadian market, where car prices are a bit higher to begin with.

 

I'll give you 10000 yen for it.

 

Man with you as the driver I would say it is worth about $5 USD. If Bart were the driver I would say it is worth about $0.50 USD.
