my friend has a 96-97 spec itr tranny i would like to get from him, not sure what the final drive is, 4.40, or 4.77. i know the 98+ jdm trannys are 4.77, but are the 96-97 jdm trannys 4.77 too?? thanks

 

98-00 is 4.785


96-98 is 4.4

1st/2nd/3rd gear revs faster then the gsr.

 

The 96-97 JDM ITR tranny is identical to the 97-01 USDM ITR tranny. The 98-01 JDM ITR tranny does indeed have a 4.782 final drive and their shift forks are also designed more durable, but its 4th and 5th gears are GSR equivalent.
