Default JG Intake Manifold Any Good?

from JG website:

This new manifold design is a result of many, many hours on the flow bench and dyno. With our Pro series GSR head using std size valves we have achieved 318cfm intake flow @ 28'' and at a lift of only 500''. With our Pro series GEN2 head using 34mm intake valves we have reached 326cfm @ 28'' at only 500'' lift.

These manifolds are for race use only. $650.00 and made to order. Appx 2-3 weeks.

what do you guys think?

well it definitly looks worth that 650 dollar price tag. with the stock cast runner. ......oh, and the cheap *** diamond plate really sets this intake manifold above the compettion.

good thing i have 2 of these.

It looks like after they parted ways from Edelbrock, they took the design and tried to make the plenum bigger

Why the diamond plates though?

looks sweet. i was looking into getting the victor x for my b2ovtec(all motor), but this looks to be a lot better. Im running s2s3 cams, 13.5:1 pistons, and a 68 mm tb and a ported gsr head done by alaniz w/ supertech valves...this manifold looks tempting..

um....Javier was doing intake manifolds similar to this long before eldebrock ever asked him to help out with designing an import mani. I had one of the older sheetmetal intake manfiolds on my 2.1L RLZ build (got it from Tom and is the same one that's used in the intake manifold test brad did)

Obviously some people don't have any idea what they are talking about. Numbers are Numbers. Who cares what the physical appearance looks like. And the price you pay is for the numbers it flows. Do your homework before you make comments.

Yeah, that definately isn't an attractive piece. I kind of like to have attractive, and performance in a package, but at that price range its tough to get both.

Grant it,it is not an attractive piece.but if it "flows" like they say, numbers dont lie...

numbers are numbers... we are dealing with valves opening and closing as well. we are dealing with harmonics within the manifold.... there are other things to take into consideration as well.

for that 650 dollar pricetag, im sure you could pick up a GE manifold and it would perform right next to that ugly *** beast.

no need for low blows on here. someone is trying to figure out if they should buy a part or not. go with a full-race or a edelbrock victor x for you setup

No doubt is that thing Ugly and cheesy looking, no way would i pay 600 for that or pay 900 for a Cast FR mani too, but thats my opinion, is there any realworld Info on these Yet? Anyone have any proof besides flow #s that this will work better then a $300 victorx or a $900 FR mani.. Untill theres some real proof I dont think we should knock it ,besides being Bootie..

I ran the original version JGED manifold on my setup for a little while. I switched to a InlinePro/GE intake manifold and picked up 5whp. I would like to see how this one does with the bigger plenum.......diamond plate is definately odd looking in an engine bay

In a 2 month time period on the same setup,I have used the Victor X,then switched to the Golden Eagle, then sold the Golden Eagle cause i picked up the Full Race for 500 bucks off some one doing ups scams.
Let me tell you i regret selling my Golden eagle(Venom style),Just a much cleaner piece inside and out,and also out performed them all, especially in numbers...
But everyones setup differs, this is solely from my experiences dyno and track wise.

so according to what some people say, I can cut off the stock plenum and weld on a 6" wide plenum onto my stock runners and flow over 300cfm with a ported head?
