Default Burned off 3.7 QTS of oil in one race tonight!

okay so today me and my friend, were messing around on the highway i drive a EG with B16a2 and he was driving a 06 mustang GT (AUTO), well anyways i checked off my oil before we left and it was topped off too the second dot! FULL,well we were going about 60mph and i downshift too third and he floors it. as soon as i downshift a big BIG puff of smoke comes out followed by what he described a FOG machine i action coming out of my muffler LOL........so we go at it and i am ahead for about 5k rpm's then he passes me while i was shifting into 4th we keep going while i am still looking in my rear view mirror at all the smoke coming out fluently! we then get back home and i check my oil and the dipstick is completely dry no mark of oil at all! HOLY CRAP

my rings are shot right? is my engine in risk of blowing soon!

If you checked the oil immediately after driving it, all the oil won't be in the oil pan yet. Wait about 5 minutes then check it.

If smokes pouring out of there like that, I agree I'd say it's pretty much shot.

Lots of honda's suck oil through the PCV system too. I'd start by replacing the PCV valve. My oil consumption went away when I put a filter on the valve cover breather instead of running it to the intake.

I always say wait @ least 15 to make sure it's back, engine will still definitely be in SOT but all the oil would have fallen by then.

Though that's just me.

You burned all your oil in one race. Damn. Assuming it's got a slight tint of blue to it - yeah, you *** raped your piston rings. From here it's up to you. You can easily rebuild it, it's not like the block is cracked or anything.

bro.....your motor is blown for sure.

You cracked a piston ring or maybe even a piston. Or maybe cracked a sleeve.

Either way, a full rebuild is in your future.

the difference between the top and bottom marks on the dipstick is 1 quart. chances are that there's still oil in the motor, even if the dipstick is dry. a motor with absolutely no oil would lock up really quick; you wouldn't be driving anywhere.

its becuase you were racing bad boy

jk, i would take that motor right out of your car if it burned that much oil. thats a rediclous amount of oil, and im really suprised your motor didnt blow when it let all that oil go. idk man... that really bad. probably the worst i've ever heard of.

be for you start riping things apart do a few simple tests. First do a compression test, then a clt or cylinder leak down test, to see witch cylinders are bad and also you should do a coolant pressure test. these tests should tell you what to be looking for and how bad it really is.

I've seen people drive cars with cracked sleeves, fucked piston rings, etc as long as you take it easy and keep oil in it.. It might last a little while.. Goodluck. Your gonna need it
