Default Power locks question..

My girlfriend is planning on purchasing a base model 2004 civic. The issue is that it doesn't have power locks and she insists on having them, so my question is whats the best option? Would all the compononets from the keyless entry and power lock system from a higher model fit directly into this one? Or would she just be better off purchasing aftermarket power locks for the car? I was thinking the first option since it would be all oem components and probally turn out to be a cleaner fit. Any one have any insight on this? Thanks

It will all bolt in directly... as long as you get all OEM parts... it's not hard to install it all.

Stay with OEM, fit and finish, as well as being covered under the factory warranty.

Go here for all your parts: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com or http://www.hondapartsdeals.com

I did the HandA Accessories install, which came with instructions, and it was VERY easy to do. You'll need to get the Stereo's CODE before un-hooking the battery. Otherwise, she won't have a stereo when you re-connect the battery.

Thanks for the websites. Im still not sure exactly what I need regarding the parts, I checked out the first website and it had all the parts for the automatic door locks but I don't know which parts are needed for the install. I found a keyless entry + attachment kit under accesories, but Im not sure if this is what Im looking for heres the link its the third item from the bottom. It would be great if somone can tell me all the parts I need for the install. https://www.hondapartsdeals.co...XEL01

im pretty sure its not possible to add power locks and/or windows because theres no harness from the fuse box as well as the fuse box is different (according to part numbers). even if it is its gonna cost an arm and a leg with all the cost in actuators, switches, wiring and fuse box. i dunno if some one has done it id like to know how(with out using aftermarket that is)

Well im just want to add power locks not windows. From what other people have said it sounds like it has been done. It would be great if someone can list the parts involved in the instalation or a whole kit or somthing.

I realize that its just that I would prefer an oem look and all with honda parts.

If you're planning on buying that 04 Civic, you'd better find a way to install the OEM parts.. As to whether or not you can install them, I'm not sure, I think harness are different. All I can tell you is that if you install an aftermarket set, be ready to diagnose it yourself when you have door lock problems.. The dealer won't even touch it if it's aftermarket..

Ive concluded that going the oem route would be the cleanest and best fitting, but it seems like its going to cost an arm and a leg to do it right. So ive decided that going aftermarket is my only choice. I know I need the actual aftermarket alarm kit and some actuators for the doors, is there anything else or is it that it?
