I just bought a 1990 CRX Si that is in desperate need of attention. Here are some pics from my cell that I took.

As you can see its in sorry shape. It has one rust spot in the bottom of the right rear quarter panel next to the door. That can be fixed. It came with a bumper, but the wrong one. It also came with fenders, but they are for a civic. And it came with a hood, but its dented up next to the honda symbol and its on the crease. So the hood is pretty much shot. So the whole front end needs replacing.
The interior isnt too bad..... ok so i lied. It came with dx seats. One in perfect condition and one crapped out. Someone broke into the car and stole the cd player. But they also slashed the headliner, the dash, and the top parts of the door panels. Bastards! But in the rear of the car it came with all interior parts. Which is good. Most dont come with the hatch cover, and this one is in hella good condition. The lock box is no longer a lock box, its now just a box because the guy before me took out the lock for some reason. The carpet just needs to be cleaned up a little.
The engine is a d15b7. The stock engine blew and this was a junk yard engine. He said it ran before he sold some parts off of it. But I dont really care, Im not keeping it. I guess the retard couldnt figure out how to get the fuel filter off so he cut the fuel lines! What a moron huh? But there are parts of this engine I will need for future uses which i will get into in a sec.
Suspension is stock, or atleast as far as i know.
The wheels look familiar but im not sure where they came from. I think they may be stock for a honda, but not sure which.
Plans:
The exterior is going to be recieving a lot of attention and new parts. Right now Im on the look out for the front fenders, bumper, and hood. After I get those parts I will be repainting it black and I want to get the red pin stripe back on it. I will then be putting amber corners and amber bumper lights on. I have the stock head lights and there is no way in hell im going to get halo's. I hear there is no company that makes a good pair. After it is painted and new lights the exterior will be pretty much done.
The inteior is also getting a lot of help. The upper part of the door panels, headliner, and sun roof will be reapholstered with black fabric. Ive been looking at synthetic black suede for the project. I have one door panel taken apart and ready to be worked on. I will most likely be buying the fabric tomorrow. I will be getting a new dash later on. For now its fine. I will be getting new seats. I have a pair of 91 civic si seats that I could put in it, but I want this car to be all black and red, so I will be looking around for a pair of black seats. Before I put that all in Im thinking about getting all the sound deadening material out. Thats about it for the interior.
The engine is where its all at. Right now I have a 1991 civic si with lsvtec in it. I will be taking the d15b7 out of the crx and I will get it all prepped for the lsvtec to be put in. Once its all ready I will be putting the lsvtec into it. The d15b7 is pretty much shot right now. It got water into it when I was towing it, so that sucks. But I have a spare d16a6 that I will be putting into my civic si. Then I will sell my civic.
The suspension will remain stock for a while. I cant really lower it because of my 4-1 header. Its too low as it is. If i lowered it it would have to be like .5 of an inch. I will eventually be getting new shocks, sway bars, and if I can find springs that dont lower too much I will get those. I have strut bars on my civic that I will swap over as well.
Wheels and tires will also be swapped from my civic. I have 15 inch flat black rota slipstreams with potenza tires on them.
Here are some pics of my civic.
This is my lsvtec, but it doesnt have the stainless 4-1 header on it.

no, i didnt get it for free. It was actually an xmas present, so i guess i got it for free. My dad bought it. Not sure how much he paid.
I did the valve cover my self. Im painting a type R one like that as well. Its half way done right now. Its all taped off and just waiting for just a little more paint. But it will be put on when i swap over the engine into the crx.

Yeah, thats what I thought too. I wanted to save this crx right when I saw it. Ive been looking for a project black crx for so long and this one fit the bill perfectly. It will be a long process. Taking most of this next year is a good idea of how long Im thinking it will take to get it looking ok. Then the engine will need to be dropped in.

This car will get a lot of love. It will get a whole face lift. No one will be able to recognize it when its done. Just need the cash money flow to get it up and going. Sucks not having a job.

I reapholstered the upper part of the passenger side door pannel. It didnt turn out too bad. Im looking forward to seeing it put back together. If I think it looks good then the drivers side door pannel and the head liner will be getting reapholstered as well.

Yeah, I first painted them red. But then I came across that desing. But I couldnt find any that were painted with wrinkle paint. I thought that it would be a lot cooler to have it in wrinkle paint because they came stock with that kind of paint on it. So I decided to do that design with wrinkle. I think it turned out pretty good. The next one Im painting should turn out better I hope. More even and straight lines. Thanks for the feedback so far.

Yeah. Im not going to settle for a junker. This car will look good. In the past I have just settled and said "eh, thats good enough." But not anymore. I am going to work hard at making this car the way i want it to be. Ive wanted to have a crx for so long and now that I have one im not going to half *** it!

Well I was on a quest to find the front end body parts but they seem to be few and far between it seems. Ive only found one guy with a 88 crx with parts for sale but I cant seem to get pics from him. So I was doing a basic search and found out about a company named certifit. I did a little more digging and found they have more good than bad reviews on the fitmint. Im about 3 hours or so from the nearest branch in Seattle. Im visiting fam. in IL right now but Im thinking about doing a little road trip a month or so after I get back into WA for the front bumper, fenders, hood, and if they have it, a passenger side door.

Yeah, I loved doing lsvtec. That was my first really huge learning experiance with cars. That was my first engine build and everything. I literaly didnt know what all was in the block before I took it apart. Its crazy what all you learn when you just say screw it and do things your self. Doing that build was worth more than taking it to a shop and having them do it. And keep in mind, I took apart and built that engine with just a cheap *** set of sockets from walmart and a couple harbor freight tools. So you dont need snapone to get things done. But since that build I have upgraded to craftsman and at my school I have a snapon set. So I have come a long way since the walmart set of sockets, but I still have them.
