First off why would you bump a thread that is only 5 minutes old? Dont do it.

Secondly vtec isnt supposed to hit hard. When it is tuned correctly you should not feel a distinct kick over. Not to mention the kseries motors are supposed be a perfect crossover compared to the B/H series.

Yup...the K-series motors have iV-Tec which crossover smoother...

If you want to hear the iV-Tec kick in, get a cold-air intake...

yeah i kinna had the same thoughts when i first picked up my car. i just figured since its a newer car it was supposed to be smoother. you can do the hondata airbox mod if you want. you can hear the crossover better if thats what your looking for. or you can get a CAI

Yup, what they said. ^^^

One of the advantages of the K-series motors is that they can continually adjust the timing & overlap of the cams throughout the rev range. Add that on top of the usual fuel & spark adjustments, and it helps smooth out the peaks & valleys that you'd see in the powerband of less well-tuned engines. Even my EP3's stock motor's torque curve is almost just a flat line from 2000 rpm to redline.

There are more aggressive cams available, too.

If you wanna hear it more, add a Short Ram and remove that sound proof thing that's on the hood.

Your car will be retardly louder (in the cabin)

In terms of sound: Short Ram > Cold Air
In terms of performance: Cold Air > Short Ram
