Default Would like to join EF Squad...

As required per the EF Squad's requirements, here's a post about my EF. It's an 89 dx that I purchased 2 years ago wrecked from a friend, and even though it's been a lot of work, I've loved every minute of this car. With the exception of the sunroof and a few interior panels, it's been converted to Si standards, and hopefully some day when I can put enough money aside maybe even to SiR standards.

All the work to the car has been performed by myself, and as of now a b16a sits in n/a trim under the hood as I've removed my turbo setup for the time being, and I'm currently building an ls/vtec to swap into place over the winter. Also over the winter I'm repainting the car white, and getting rid of the monstrous 17" Motegi's to go back to a more jdm themed 15" wheel. The nose of the car is swapped from my old crx that was wrecked, and since the hatch needed one at the time I swapped it over. Since then it's kind of grown on me, although I'd still kill for an EF9 front clip. Let me know what you guys think, I know she's probably rough for EF Squad standards, but who knows...maybe after the winter if nothing else.

I appreciate all the hard work you've put into the car. Don't give up the dream.

I had an old set of rota slips on it for a while, but I broke one after hitting a pothole in N.E. PA where I live. Unfortunately I got rid of them, and all I had left at the time were these big ugly things

yeah, and also, if you have all these plans coming up, why don't you follow through with those first and then "apply" if it means that much bro?

Well, I'm 27...I own my own house, work a 40hr/wk job as an electrician, and build honda motors and custom turbo setups in my spare time for extra cash. This is my 4th EF that I've owned, previous ones were pretty much gutted down for track use only. I've never really built a car that was more for asthetics, but after seeing a few SiR's and such, I have to say I like them...alot. I'd really like to model this car after one of them. Only problem is I'm NOT 16 and I have responsibilities and way too many bills like every other normal adult in this world. I'm far from rich and very far from spoiled unlike alot of kids I've seen on HT before. More or less it's a personal goal that I'd like to achieve, whether it be sooner or later. Besides, a car with only 1 seat and a turbo the size of your face doesn't score points with the wife, especially where kids are involved.

Well, at least you've got a head start. Hold on to it as long as you can, because reality bites when you're on your own.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by rino924 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

Which is probably what I'll do come spring time. For now I just wanted to get some feedback. Besdies, it seems to be pretty par for the course with alot of other threads I've seen made on this site

I see where you're coming from. There are tons of people like you out in california. Just because reality comes to a person that is forced to do the 9-5; doesn't change the person's "style". Sure it's a hobbie, but dont waste your time on it if it's not going to get you anywhere. Learn from your hobbie is what I tell most people.
But I can't blame you, you're from PA; your guys car style is many years behind west coast.

Looks like you built the car for drag racing. turbo size of my face eh? GT40r? Probably not, judging from the $150 evo8 intercooler.

This thread also looks like a 16 year old would create. A person like you shouldn't care about a car "group". Next year, you'll look back at this thread and laugh.

Are those the stock headlights/cornerlights? They seem to be thinner like a 4dr's headlights. Or maybe it's the CRX bumper making them look thinner. All in all, I like it for what it is. I would get smaller wheels though, but otherwise not bad at all.

Not on this car, this one's just an around town type of beater. If you paid more attention to what I wrote instead of looking at areas to try and bash me with, you would notice that this isn't my first Ef, but rather the first one I wanted to make look decent, not go fast. That's just leftover parts I slapped together on a stock b16a to get it back up a little better to speed. You can slap around the GT40r tag all you want, if you actually knew a little something about power to weight ratio you would understand that a turbo that large is unnecessary in a stripped EF...anything over 450whp in a properly setup suspension is just a waste of time, because you should already be hitting the 10 mark. If not, then you need to learn how to drive. But you are right about east coast/west coast styling...for some stupid reason east coast seems to be stuck in the dubs/big bodykit/obnoxious paint. If someone told me 2 years ago I would be trying to make a car look decent instead of fast, I would've laughed at them. Perhaps it's the fact I'm getting older. As long as I don't turn into that one 40 yr old guy you always see with the shopping cart wing on the nissan sentra, spray painted hub caps thumping around to whatever kids listen to these days.

I would if I could, they were welded over by the previous owner.

Umm, I don't see any body kit on the car. The wheels, yah...I've been trying to practicly give them away and nobody wants them. The front bumper is a stock 91 crx front bumper, only added thing is a fiberglass lip that I made. The rear of the car is flared out in sheetmetal at the bottom, mostly because it was so rotted out in the back end. The car looked like a train hit it when I first bought it.

Those are the stock 89 headlights/cornerlights. The fenders and front bumper are 91 crx, which has a little bit more room behind the "mouth" of the bumper.
This is the reason I posted this here on H-T...the other site (whose name I won't mention due to some bad feelings between forums) I belong to wants nothing to do with the asthetics of a vehicle. Therefore I come here looking for constructive criticism.

This is where Ill have to disagree with you. The east coast scene is much like the cali scene. Its just not overpopulated. I wouldn't give it up for the world.

build your car for yourself, not to get in some internet club.

Oh, and judging from what i've seen of that club, your car won't make it. I can tell the paint is terrible from pictures... that's pretty bad.

Yeah, the paint is pretty bad. I did a real quick spray job on it about a year and a half ago to try and make it one uniform color (car was originally that dark red/maroon color). When I bought the paint they gave me a tech sheet with the wrong psi settings for my gun, and I knew it was wrong as soon as I sprayed the base but it was too late at that point. Sanded it down a little and cleared it and bit the bullet. This time I'm going to strip as much of it down as possible and spray it white.
And some of you guys have a good point...I don't need to join an internet club. Now that I stop and think about it, I think I had a little too much cough syrup and muscle relaxers last night when I made this post.
