bad spark plugs

can anyone tell my what is causing my sparkplug to go black. i just bought some and they turned black after driving for one month

Could be running rich, but the one on the right looks normal (the one on the left looks like it got left out in the rain for about 8 months). I mean.....black carbon buildup is going to occur within about 50 miles, its just the nature of an internal combustion engine that burns fuel.
