Default Ducati Guru's Help

I have the chance to buy this bike but have no idea what it is besides that fact that its a ducati. Any help would be appreciated. It appears by the sticker on the front fairing that its a 996. Also, ballpark figure how much is this worth.

Some came with those stock. May be a 996s if ohlins rear and TiN forks were stock?

yikes man if u really dont know anything about it i wouldnt buy it. Thats a ducati 996 and its a track ONLY bike...its a v-twin, makes about 110hp..really really nice bike. 5k i believe if there's nothing wrong with it and not a ton of miles is a great price..for about 1k you could probably convert it back to street.

So you dont know anything about bikes but you want a 996 track bike? I will never understand why people want to jump in the deep end on a 10 second 1/4 mile missle.

And BTW, thats not a sticker.

I have an R1, It cant be that much of a difference. Thanks for everyone that gave positive input. Is this what the bike would look like stock.

If you waant to track it only, yes

For street, no

The harness on that thing is probably so cut up it would cost alot of money to put back to stock, and a PITA to put all back together. I say no on this one

Yes the bike will be track only. Basically I just wanted an explanation on what ducati this is and how it is different the say the 996 with the 5 spoke wheels rather then the 3 on that one.

That generation Ducati is by far the easiest bike to work on ever.

Can strip the body off mine in under 10 minutes.
