Default Speedo Lube

The inner cable on my speedometer cable broke so i ordered a new one and it should be here today. Is there any kind of lubrication or grease I should put on the cable before sliding it into the outer speedometer cable?

The car is a 1988 Civic RTAWD

Anybody know? I would like to get the cable installed tomorrow because I miss seeing how fast I'm going and calculating my mileage.

I went out and got some white lithium grease today, slid the old inner cable out, greased up the new and it slide right in with no problems or snags. The speedometer works great now.

I never saw any goo in the box from Honda or on the actual package, DAMN I hope one of the cat didn't eat it. Maybe that explains why she was acting so crazy.
