is there any EG owner with ES motor mount inserts?
i was searching infos about ES inserts at Clubsi,
lots 99-00si owners recommend them. But they did point out that the rear insert transfer lots of vibration to the cockpit, so most of them end up having only two front inserts installed. Then it came to an EG owner who said in a 5th Gen. Civic, even with only two front inserts the car will vibrates like hell, becuase EG chasis is old and not as strong as 99-00 si. Can you guys confirm this? i m about to have my stock motor mounts checked and buy a set of ES motor mount insert. Just wanna see what you guys think. Thanks in advance
BTW, my car is a 93 Ex coupe 5spd

If you only install the tourque mount inserts (fronts), you're not accomplishing much. The rear mount is the one that will make the real difference.
Yes, at idle and when pulling away from a dead stop, you will get some vibration through the dash and steering column, but not during driving conditions. After you've drive the car 2 or 3 times, you won't remember what it was like before. You won't care because it will be so much better.
Results: Better feel and, at least the illusion of better throttle response. When I put my 7.5lb flywheel, I actually began to like the mounts even more. The motor runs much smoother with the lighter flywheel and therefore, translates less vibration to the body now.
My only warning is the install process of the rear inserts. It ain't fun, it ain't easy. If you're planning any clutch work soon, just wait, it will be so much easier. If not, grab a box of band-aids for your skinned knuckles and have a beer or 2 to calm yourself down before tackling this enfuriating project. Good luck!

there is a great deal of vibration transferred to the chassis of the car when pulling out from a stop. some can tolerate it, i could not. very similar to the feeling you first get when you put stiffer springs and shocks on a car. you feel everything, but unless your daily drvier is a toyota camry (or comparable vehicle designed for smooth ride) you will eventually get de-sensitized to it.
imo the es mounts where its the two front torque mounts and the rear it doesnt vibrate the car too much....after installing the prothane kit in addition to the es kit my car shakes like hell and that was only with the street insert on the prothane kit....when i have the race insert in....you dont want to know....(its that bad...but i like it...)
Oddly enough, I'm doing my clutch flywheel install on Tuesday, and I think I'm only going to install the rear ES insert.
I'm hoping one insert won't transmit too much vibration, but I'm more concerned that it'll drive my gf crazy. We'll see.

I installed all three ES mount inserts in my 95 coupe... yes, there is more vibration than stock... but trust me, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Takes a little getting used to at first, but if you make nice smooth launches (like from a stoplight or something), you should have no problem at all. I didn't notice a ton more vibration in the cockpit at idle (there is a little, but it's more than bearable), and when driving it's basically the same as stock.
So far, I haven't really seen the benefits of these inserts, except they kind of give your car that "racecar" feel... I suppose if I had some other mods done and could actually put out some power I could use the traction/reduced wheel hop, but for now, they're staying in, because they were such a royal pain in the *** to install (especially the rear one... yikes. I had to twist and contort my heater hoses out of the way so that I could push the bracket up and get the inserts in... )
Good luck! You'll need it. (A spare set of hands is nice to have as well)

thanks for everyone's replies.
actually my EG is bone stock(kinda odd on this board, i know). I've only done suspension, which was necessary because stock shocks were blown already.
After my new suspensions were installed, i test drove it and compare with my friend's 97 BMW 325is, and my brothers 99 Jetta VR6
. and Man! those european cars really can give drivers a solid and comfortable ride(for ex: re-acceleratino at low end spped at 1st gear is super smooth, unlike my EG jerking like crazy
). Thats why i started looking at ES motor mount insert. My goal is to have a my EG's body stiffen up, but not making any vibrations in the same time, so it can be a perfect daily driver. i know its weird because most honda owners only focus on power mods, but its just me. So i guess i will just install front two mounts, and pass on rear one
. If any of you happen to have same goal as mine, feel free to discuss.

95 EX + B18B + ES inserts = High powered *****.........
my opinion............
just use the rear inserts. Little vibratino increase. If I used all insert sets, rearview mirror was useless and my hands went numb belowe 2000 rpm from the vibes.
But you'll never miss a shift from the engine/tranny rocking about!
