Default 96-98 CTR climate control help

Ok I just got my CTR (96-98) climate control today-took the old one out no problem-but when I try to put the CTR one in it will not go all the way in on the passenger side,I assume this is from the RHD config on the original car-has anyone else encountered this problem before, any help would be nice if theres modifaction needed, thanks!

you have to trim the vents down a little bit so the climate control will line up

all I can tell is that it looks like I am going to have to loosen up the A/C ducting or cut the bracket out where the defrost switch mounts
