It will vary from shop to shop, best way to find out is call. It also depends where you bought your tires, some places offer free lifetime rotating/balancing. In any case it shouldn't be more than a few bucks a corner. Try wal-mart, they are usually pretty cheap.

go to a small shop. Over here, small shops charge like $5 ea, and that's to mount + balance, so they always work out a deal for you

Balancing is USUALLY done at the same time as mounting tires on the wheels. You mention that you got new wheels; if you bought tires at the same time, the wheel/tire dealer usually mounts and balances them for you, no charge. If you didn't buy tires at the same time, they will have to be mounted AND balanced.

Typical charges for mounting and balancing are $10-20 per tire. Some shops (including small shops in my area) charge as much as $25-30 per tire or more, particularly if you have special tires (e.g. track tires) or if you ask for stick-on weights.

Balancing without mounting probably costs less, as neri notes; I don't know because I've never needed that.

Really? Are you sure? I've been to Wal-Mart tire departments in stores all over the Midwest, and they have a sign right in the tire department showing their charges. The charge for mounting and balancing always says "carry in", meaning that that's what they charge if they bring you a tire for mounting and balancing. (It's free when you buy the tires there.) And I've had tires mounted there at Wal-Mart stores in several states, and I've never been turned down. (I've been refused at Sam's Club and Costco, but never at Wal-Mart.) I've had several sets mounted and balanced in the past few months, and Wal-Mart charges $8/tire for mounting and balancing, plus an extra $1.75/tire if you have them replace the valve stem.

Lucky you!
