Default Cant decide what to do with my Accord next. DIY JDM headlights maybe?

5th gen Accord 2dr. I dont plan to do any engine modification yet, just trying to add up my mpg for now. So far, I have about $300 to shell out for my car, and the other thousands for other necessities. I already had a recent major tune-up. So far, I came up with either installing...

+HID headlights
+Mugen Front Lip
+Ground Control suspension and Koni Yellow shocks (I need a price quote)
+Sound system + $110 install
+DEI alarm system +$220 install

I dont have to choose one of the top options, but it'd be nice to have one of those. But I do plan to do a DIY JDM blackhousing headlights over my winterbreak. I already found that write-up w/ lots of pics and have a questions...

+Is there a better way to remove the headlight covering from the housing besides using an oven?
+Am I suppose to put on some sort of glue when pasting the headlight cover back onto the housing?
+I dont have any mounting stands for the front... just two jackstands. Will that be OK?

Any other tips before I get started?

i used a heat gun and screwdrivers. i also put some clear silicon on them when i put them back together. i dont know what you mean about mounting stands, i spray painted mine on some newspaper. as far as tips go: take your time with the taping, try out the paint before you put it on the lights, and uhh... good luck.

Does Kragen sell heat guns or clear silicon? I dont have that one... but did you just heat gun it all the way around the headlight then pop it with a screwdriver slowly? How long did it take you to remove it? And do I have to heat gun it again after I put clear silicon? Then freeze it in the freezer, correct?

honestly never heard of kragen... uhhh i guess any hardware store would have both. you heat gradually around the seal evenly then stretch it with a screwdriver.. then keep doing that till it falls off. it took like 5-10 minutes for each i guess? its been awhile. heat it up before you put the silicon on so the other glue is ready to bond again.. then just push them together. no freezing required, just let it chill.

I did my second pair a few days ago. I did them in the oven... My safety trick is to heat up the oven to 300' then shut it off and slide the light in on the bottom rack on a cold cookie sheet for 8 minutes. That way nothing can melt because the burners wont come back on and get red hot inches from your light.
wear a pair of gloves when you pull it out so you can work with it while its still hot. Pry slowly!!!
I never put my car on jacks when I did mine.
Have fun!!
