O2 Sensor going out?
98 Accord Coupe J30, 150K on the clock.
I noticed since my last 2 fill ups that I have lost about 40% of my gas mileage. Used to get around 360-380 per tank and now at this current rate I will be lucky to get 200 miles. Obviously there is a fuel ratio issue.
Engine runs and idles fine
Exhaust smells rich on start up
O2 Sensor has never been changed
I think the culprit is one of the O2 sensors, but I want to be sure. Is there a way to test it? I haven't looked hard enough but I assume there is two sensor one each on the ex. manifolds. Thx for the help

While a malfunctioning 02 sensor will reduce fuel mileage, 40% is rather severe.
I think you've got more going on there. A quick and dirty check for 02 sensor activity is to try to hold a steady 2000rpm in neutral on a warm engine. If the rpms hunt up and down 50-75 rpm, you've got a slow or lazy sensor.

yeah my accords been getting crappy mileage too (2000, F23), with the CEL on (flashcode 67), P0420, it is kinda hard to hold a steady 2000rpms, course last time i did that i think th emotor was cold, so the rpms would keep going back down, will try
during the test is it allowable to move the pedal any while trying to hold 2KRPM, or not, likt hold it around 2K and it should stay put, not bounce any
