Default Mild gsr build na hitting dyno tonight

What do you guys think for daily driver?
1996 cx civic hb with 97 usdm gsr swap
Block honed
Itr pistons
New Oem rings
New Oem rod bearings
New Oem Headgasket

Head sent to machine shop/Clean looks brand new
3 angle valve job
All valve seals/cam seals replaced
Cleaned resurfaced head
Pressure treated head
Itr cams/Stock gsr valvetrain
Blox Im
Stock header for now,Will be upgrading as soon as i get the money

Im looking at 165-175 whp daily driver. What do you guys think? I wanted a mild setup since i may want to smog this car in future.
Im looking to run low 14's

Car will be tuned with chipped p72 obd 1 with Crome Pro. I know my header/exhaust/cat is choking power, but i will definitely replaced all 2.5 inch all around.
Full interior no ac no power steering.

my brother was running mid 14's in his gsr with slicks and 155whp. if you're a good driver you should be in the high-mid 13's.

P72 running blox manifold. Gonna get CELS for the lack of butterflys? I like the setup nice and reliable with high 13 potential.

In for the numbers.

If it actually gets TUNED i could see it breaking 170whp

if its a couple runs with a bit of dizzy adjustments in between, then i say 160-170

You should break 170WHP.

I made 170 with just ITR cams,DC JDM 4-1(open header) and a AEM ShortRam.

That was back in 05 at the Pomona Event. Since then, Turbo

you can rev higher, i use to take mine up to 8500k, i use to run an ecu with no rev limiter and would miss a gear from time to time and the tach would burry past 9k and never had issues

i wouldn't trust those single exhaust valve springs with itr cams. valves have been bent before. how about the possibility of acellerated wear?

im not gonna rev that high. Valves have been inspected by machine, no bent valves, replaced all valve seals by machine shop and 3 angle valve shop. Why dont you trust stock gsr valve springs if im not gonna rev pass 8k. This is daily driver btw

I rev to 8500 in my Turbo setup (stock valve train & sleeve) No problems...Yet

I had 2.5 mandrel bent piping to the axel(test pipe) and flanged the muffler.

i dont have extra cash, since i already spent too much. I was told i dont need to upgrade valvetrain unless i was going with more aggressive cams like skunk 2 stage 2's blox spec b's toda spec b's etc. I even heard you can get away with skunk 2 stage 1's with stock valve, which is more aggressive than itr's

well, i've been reseaching the itr cam(s) upgrade for a couple years now and i've come accross only one person who actually took his head apart and got it properly inspected after some good use with stock gsr springs. he said all his exhaust valves were slightly bent, but he raced the car regularly, but never went above the stock gsr 8200 cutoff.

So all i'm saying is, even if you don't go beyond the stock gsr rev limit, doesn't mean the valvetrain isn't working harder, because it is. And just because so and so says his engine is still running 'fine' after 'one year'(or whatever), doesn't mean the wear isn't accellerated. (not to mention possible misshifts)

Maybe its just my personal security blanket, but i'm going with the spring upgrades. The only debate, imo, is whether its worth the effort, if your not taking the head off, don't have the spring compressor, or the know how. If you've got your head apart anyway, it should be a no brainer for cheap security and peace of mind. what, 100bux for the itr intake springs? and move the gsr intake to the exhaust.

my 2cents.
