Default coil keep blowing

OK so i bought my car from this douche bag. The coil has gone out twice in a ridiculously short amount of time. Now my car died a third time and although i havent had a chance to diagnose the problem i assume its the coil again. What would cause the coil to go out like that?

you got a short circuit somewhere.. trace back the wires from the distributor. make sure the plastic/rubber shielding didnt melt off and is making contact to a ground somewhere.

Could be a shorting in the harness. I had this problem with a 92 hatch. The fusebox, where the front and rear harness meets could be shorted. Pull carpet away and take a look at those wires. This will prevent your car from starting, if you dont see all the lights on the cluster go on when you turn your key, then your having this problem.
