m2b4(1996) tranny onto a h22a4(2000) PirateMcfred**
I got a 2000 prelude type sh that i want to put the m2b4 tranny on and i see that piratemcfred makes the adpater plate but my computer wont let me send him a instant message. I was wondering what i need besides the m2b4 tranny, intermediate shaft, adapter plate, wiring harness for a base model prelude, and base model ecu to make this work ? Thanks matt
Not meaning to threadjack, but one quick question: would the M2B4 tranny work in a base 5th gen without modifications/fabrications?
Again, not meaning to threadjack.

Why would you need those?
Your SH ECU will work just fine. Once you unplug your ATTS ECU the light will go away and it wont know a difference. I ran my SH ECU on a base engine for 2 years without issue. The wiring harness? Why change that? it will be just fine.

This is the first ive heard of needing the base wire harness and ecu when eliminating the ATTS unit. In po.com there are several people who eliminated the ATTS and they only used the base tranny, intermediate shaft and the adapter plate. They all retained the SH ECU and wiring harness.....unless its different with teh M2B4??

DOH! Beat me to it. That sounds better.

I don't have any plates right now. I have made a few on an indiidual basis but it is not cost effective. Setting up the tooling to make one plate burns most of a day.
I have a few people lined up to make a batch of ten. If you want to include yourself on the list then say so. I have 4 people now.
For the record, I do this on my own time. It is not my "business." I work 65 hour weeks. Unless you pay me some premium I will not do one week turn around. I have a life outside of Honda-Tech so do not expect an adapter plate to be in the mail 3 minutes after I get payment. Sorry life is not always fair.

I have a couple plates on turboed H22s. It should hold just fine unless you're making a hell of a lot of power. If you are making a hell of a lot then I can accomodate a sturdier design.

The SH actually has 2 ecus under the kickplate. One regualr sized one, looks like any ecu and a smaller one for the ATTS.

no, the only reason you need an adapter plate for the sh is that the SH has atts. the ATTS unit has 4 bolt holes spread out where the base has 3 bolt holes in a smaller area.

60 or so pounds. I don't care what anyone says, having gone from an SH to a base is a big difference. ATTS works and works well.

I am sure it works well, it is a really neat idea. They took it a step further on the TL AWD SH too. Just need more power and less weight in a nice car though.
I origianlly made the plate for a Prelude Type-S shortblock into my 4th gen preldue chassis. For me it was much much easier to make an adapter than to go and get an ATTS transmission and unit. If you stay naturally aspirated then the ATTS usnit will be fine for you and it will continue to do so for a while. It is on FI that it starts to fail since there is too much torque to handle.
