Default Lacking power after plug change

Ok I have a B16A swap in my 93 Civic EX....started bogging in 2nd-5th gears on slight incline. So i changed the plugs to new Bkr6e-11's...im fairly new to B-series motors so i asked my buddy wat the gap was and he went ahead and gapped them to .044 and put em in. But it feels like ive lost about 10 hp throughout the entire powerband, are they gapped wrong.

Old ones were gapped at .049.

They should be gapped at 0.047-0.051, and I doubt that is the problem. Was there a issue with any of the wires? Was one harder than another to pull out? Did they get pushed in all the way?
