Default hey, HID QUESTION

umm. off the topic question, but are HID light Legal in Chicago IL? what is normally the rules or law on them? are 10K legal? thanx alot guys

I dont think that you would want 10k anyways, its just a lot of useless color

6000K (Philips Ultinon) is the highest/whitest legal color output from any hid xenon light source, either aftermarket DOT illegal rebased bulb kits or OEM lights as far as I know. Anything above that yields very little useful light; because of the higher wavelengths of higher color temp lights, it reflects less on surfaces so you will actually see less.

Actually I'd recommend 4300K or 4100K which is a color temp generally found in most any and all OE apps. You'll get more lumens from a 4100K kit than a 6000K kit.

I've got a 12000K kit and i love it, I can see 20X better the regular halogens and it's the coulor i was after. To many people with thos eugly blue headlights.

I'f you're after colour get whatever kit you like. If you're after light output stay with a lower K kit.
