go to the bay area man, lol...sac has nothing, only d2 right now...everywhere else just sells parts and tries to be mechanics. motorsport used to have dyno, but they're gone now...back in the days when i was sales manager at street toyz we did decent tuning just so u could drive it around and it wasn't all crazy. but with hondata u have to be careful who u take it to. in order to sell hondata (as a dealer) you have to buy one of their packages and like...BE ABLE TO TUNE. according to their site, (which is old info) midnight performance in rancho is a tuner and seller...so i guess that's the best u can try in sac area, GL man

Yeah, you could say that I didn't care for them much...
As for the "original subject", how many more suggestions does the guy need? 15 perhaps? If he was running Crome I could help him out... Hondata I don't have the software for.

crome is about the same with about the same features. It is free you just need a chipped ecu. The only person I know that tunes crome is Jeremy on crom pro and I think his rates are aorund $150/hr street tune $200/hr for dyno tune. Pm "redzone" to talk to him.

Crome is basically free for you if all you want is for someone else to tune your car. You would need to have the ECU chipped, similar to Hondata. From there you need to find someone who can tune and who has the software. In my opinion, its better then Hondata for a few reasons.

Since I actually use the software and have to tune with it, these are my observations. Stricly my opinions.
Cromes interface is more "user friendly" and I prefer the layout over the Hondata rom editor
Crome is an "open source" program and thus development is constantly moving forward. Hondata makes progress, sure. But it seems to me there are constantly new developments with Crome.
The cost of Crome is significantly less for the "do it yourself" type of tuner. The software was $150 for me and I am able to tune whomevers car I desire. Of course you still need a wideband and (prefferably) a romulator if you plan to do this often. For someone like yourself though, these aren't things you need. You would simply need a chipped ECU and then someone with the tools and software.
I can post questions/feedback on the pgmfi site and get a response. Its not lost in the Hondata forums and blown off. The support level, to me, is superior with Crome.
Again, constant development on the software. What good is a tuning software is the author isn't constantly and actively correcting bugs and adding features? There are lots of new things that Crome is prejected to release later in the new year that I feel will make it even more superior over the competiition.

ADVICE: Don't take it to MIDNIGHT PERFORMANCE.
everytime i call them and ask for advice, they give me misleading info's. example: trying to tell me i MUST have afc/vafc or else they can't tune my car even tho i told them i had hondata and/or crome.

well ive decided to go with a crome tune...but i dont think my car will be able to make it to san jose to get the tune done... what should i do?
call up rd tech (paul) at 916-612-1746. he's in sacramento too. he street tuned my car using Crome program and a reasonable price. I'm boosting and running great with 10 psi. once he gets your car tuned pretty good then you shouldn't have a problem going to the bay area. he's usually free on weekends.
btw, what size injectors are you running?
