Default searched. how to remove side moldings from door?

ok so i know there are clips but inside the door there is a piece of metal blocking the clips.
i know how to get them off the fender and the one in front of the rear tire, but i already broke one on the pass side door. it was messed up so i did not care about messing it up more.
however on the drivers side it is mint so i don't want to mess it up, but it needs to come off.
i know there is a nut i have to take off, but how do i get to the clips.

if you know about a thread that talks about this please link me to it.
thanks

also how do i remove the black plastic piece on the door that runs vertical along the rear of the door. #8 and 11 in this image. i can get it off breaking it but i would like to remove it with out damage. thanks.

I just broke all of my clips today trying it.You have to take a flathead and a rag and just pry them off and hope they dont break. If they do break just go find some more.Honda told me today they are like $9.76 or something like that a piece,i dunno if thats all for one door or for each clip.

i would probably guess and try to get some really skinny long nosed needle noses and try that so you can pinch the clips w/o breaking each of them. its worth a shot if that doesnt work, just start ripping **** that will work for sure.

i did it on my 89 hatch but wat i did was go to the junkyard and get the clips from the fender molding, a bunch of em, and just used those and broke off my original clips. there is one nut that holds it in by the doorjam. pull the molding towards the back of the car, yank on it, them pull it out. thats wat i did.

good idea about the fender clips.
i'll have to hit up the junk yard.
the problem i'm having with just yanking them off is when i did the pass side i did not realize it was metal and now it's bent.
that is ok cause it was garbage anyway. the drivers side i don't want to bend.

i'm gonna try some needle nose pliers i have a long set

glad i bumped this thread

Sure you can use 2 little flat heads but you have a huge chance of scratching the paint. I prefer taking off the door panel and just squeezing the clips from inside of the door with pliers.

uh yeah
ok so the door panels are off. they have been off for a while.
i gutted the car.
theres some metal blocking the clips.
also i'm not worried about scratching paint, i'm taking them off to paint.

im surprised none of you have thought of the way i take the mouldings off. okay unbolt the front and back. then pry up the side by the fender, just barely enough so you dont snap a clip. SLIDE the moulding toward the front of the car.. you can pull the moulding right off. once removed you can take the clips off problem free

i kinda tried that with the passenger side.
as soon as i pulled the molding about 3/4 inch away from the car the clip snapped
they are rotted so i might just end up getting new clips anyway.
