Default Im looking for a del sol, got some questions.

A del sol caught my eye, was wondering what to expect, so i got a few questions.

1. Do they weigh 2300-2400 pds, or are they heavier?.
2. What are all the models, and which ones came with PS, a/c, vtec motor, and which didn't.
3. Were they made 93-97, or just 94/95?.
4. Whats the highest these go for, and the lowest they go for?.
5. Do they swap engines like the 92-95 civics do, are they the same internally.

I can answer a few of your questions
3) They were made between 93-97
4) I have seen some for as high as $7000, but have also seen some for as low as $2000 like the one I am selling.
5) They are interchangeable like civics when it comes to the motor
sorry I couldn't answer all your questions.

They weigh about 2400lbs

The models they came in were:
93-95 Del Sol S - D15B7 (1.5L SOHC)
96-97 Del Sol S - D16Y7 (1.6L SOHC)
93-95 Del Sol Si - D16Z6 (1.6L SOHC VTEC)
96-97 Del Sol Si - D16Y8 (1.6L SOHC VTEC)
94-95 Del Sol VTEC - B16A3 (1.6L DOHC VTEC)
96-97 Del Sol VTEC - B16A2 (1.6L DOHC VTEC)

I hated my del sol and that's why I bought a hatchback. I haven't regretted my decision since.

I've seen some immaculate Sols go for over $10,000 and some for less than $2000. You could find a Si shell for under $1000 if you are looking to swap anyway.

1) I got my Si weighed with full interior, some random stuff taken out, with full turbo kit and it was a bit over 2500 with a 110 pound GF in it still (she didnt want to get it, it was cold :-D )
2) See above
3) They were available from 93-97, 94 vtec model was introduced. Not any huge changes, front end chanced in 96 and the rim design changed in (I THINK) in 95
4) I bought mine for 6K three years ago with 49K original miles. They go anywhere from 1K for shells to as much as 10K for low milage 97 vtecs (there are two in my area so that's where i get the price from). Generally, however, expect to pay between 3-5K for a good/great example with reasonable milage.

5) engine swaps are exactly the same, i had a 95 Si before my current one and it had, at one point or another,
-B16 stock swap
-Built LS motor
-B18c1 stock
-B18C5 all motor

I sold it afterwards so it never got another swap. They're great cars but have some flaws.
-Leaky top, especially on driver side (i have had this on all three sols i've owned)
-Leaky trunk (never had it)

Body panels are a LITTLE bit harder to find, as are specialty parts, but they also get stolen less than the typical civic/teg cuz only the engine and some parts of the suspensioncan be used on other models, the body is 100% unique to the sol.

My thoughts, BUY IT!

Thanks guys, i like straight forward answers.

My problem is, i would like one because they seem to of sparked my interest, and the inside reminds me of the 1st gen DSM, with that fighter cockpit look to it, lol, but i can't find one in my area thats reasonable.

I am located in florida, im looking for one in the 2-3$ range, don't care if it's high mileage, as long as the car is fine.

I would like a shell more then anything right now but i doubt anyone is selling one right now that just needs a swap, but if you do let me know.

I got a 95 DX hatchback for trade also, but it needs a new longblock, the old one is toast, everything else is still fine.
