600whp questions... need some opinions
OK, im currently waiting on a GE sleeved 84mm LS block to come back from a supplier on here...
GT35R
RC 1000cc
Aem fuel Rail
Walbro 255 - (thinking of upgrading to the aeromotive)
Im wondering what i should do for pistons/rods and compression...
basically lookin for some feedback from guys with similar setups...
I currently have Wiseco 81.5mm 9.4:1 and eagle H-beams
Ive been lookin into Manley or Crower rods... are they really worth the extra money over the eagles? I was very happy with my eagle rods, but i heard mixed reactions of bigger HP setups...
And should i be lookin at like 8.0-8.5 compression or around 9 again ?
I think all the big companies are basically the same for pistons, i was thinkin wiseco again, Arias, or CP would all be fine...

Crower Rods
S-shaped 3 of them at 44 psi. Pauter rods all the way 50psi and still holding up
but if you plan on staying in the 600-650 Whp zone you should be fine with any rod.

I run eagle rods and cp 9.7:1 pistons right at the 600hp mark, been working fine for now. But I would rather have Manleys or pauters for piece of mind. If you have the money Pauters or Manleys all the way.
Trending Topics
Carrillo Super A/H beams, Pauter's, or Manley's will do the trick.
A few guys have ran the Eagle's past 600whp... but I typically try to limit them to around 500whp.

A weldon fuel pump is the way to go, they are the only company that I've never heard any complaints about. Their fuel pumps are solid/bullet proof, I've heard of all kinds of problems from Aeromotive's large fuel pumps.........
^^^ you'll be fine.
By the specs on garrets page the 35r is maxed out at 600 on a 2.0 so you may want to take that into consideration.
To people who are worried about eagle: One of my local buddies didnt like eagle rods, didnt trust them, well he got his build almost done.... except for the rods, so he put some eagle rods in there to get tuned on. Well he made 8xxhp, after that he was pretty content with them.

Obviously money is not an issue.
I would consider 3inch charge piping, this way you can assure yourself some room for more power, as you'll crave to do later.
Other than that you need to make sure the cat-back is atleast 3in, maybe even 3.5inch.

i sold my turbo setup from this season for a good price, so i just invested that right back into the turbo setup....
and then i sold my stock sleeved LS block... and made some more money on that, so it pretty much funded about 80% of this new setup...
as for the charge piping, i hadnt concidered it... but the catback is full 3inch strait back... kteller bolt on kit...
i was gonna just use the 4inch DP only to make the 600hp... i was shootin for 400 daily with the 3inch exhaust on it

4" downpipe is overkill u dont need it
cp pistons, and pauter or manley rods if u can afford them if not eagles i guess would work just dont rev to high.
i made 613 on my setup with a walbro, stock lines 1000cc injectors...i would recommend upgrading. i dont feel comfortable to be honest at those levels.
im running 2.75 inch charge piping 3" is overkill 2.5 is kinda on the small side so 2.75 was just right i felt. but more expensive so 2.5 will work.
just run an oem HG overbored by GE, give camp 1320 a call.
let me know if u have any boost creep on your setup. a single 44mm might not be enough.
thats just my recommendations from experience.

i liked the idea of gettin the 4inch DP matchin with the manifold.... and it was a good price..... otherwise, i woulda got just a 3..
thanks for the advice though... thats what im lookin for, people with previous experience..
