i'm picking up tonite a set of cams...i don't know which cams are best...i didn't see anything by searching to see if pro1's are better or blox hsl's...help me pick...

my setup is a ls/vtec...

- 12:1 compression
- mild-port polish b16 head with 3 angle valve job
- gsr tranny
-aem cam gears
- itr intake manifold
- dc 4-1 headers

going to tune with chrome or s200.

which one makes more power- wilder?

 

Pro 1's or Pro 2's would be fine on the street. Pro 2's actually idle better then the Pro 1's

i have the blox hsl's, i am very happy with them on the performance. they make good low and mid power, while making decent top end. the customer service sucks at blox though, they cant help you with any degreeing or things like that.

Cant help you w/ product they know nothing about... it's not like they designed it or anything.

its been wildly known that BLOX has PRO1 copies, rumor is they were trying to come out with PRO2 an PRO3 copies as well
I prefer to stick with the original

Thats strange. The HSL/S2S3 has small primaries with a large vtec lobe, typically lacking a bit in the low-midrange but having a strong top end. Pro1's = newer technology, HSL/S2S3 = old technology. New &gt; old.

 

Not that I know this for sure but the Blox guys swear that the HSL is different than the S2S3. I believe the blox c is supposed to be a S2S3 copy, but could not say for sure

 

Blox C = Jun 3 copy.

Blox B shares the same vtec lobe as the Jun3/S2S2, but the Blox C is an exact copy including primaries. I don't even know why they have it out really

 

the blox HSL is its own profile not a copy. thats why they arent a blox type c. they always hint at what they copied in their grind profiles. example:p1=pro 1

 

Tom degreed them a few years ago. He was running S2S3's in his motor, degreed the HSL's and guess what.....
