searched, but! need help on vtec crossover

Default searched, but! need help on vtec crossover

got a 94 civic vx...which i believe is obd1 p07. its bone stock, and i was just wondering what the vtec crossover is supposed to be at. lol. i cant tell cuz its a vtec-e motor, so its weak, and i was just wondering when it kicks in since its such a low rpm vtec motor. thanks

there is no set engagment point as far as i know on vtec-e engines. it kicks in at certain load on the engine and certain throttle , above a set rpm. in a vtec-e engine , one intake valve rides on the vtec lobe all the time , while the other one is barely being opened riding on a near round cam lobe. when vtec engages , the 2 rockers lock together and they both ride on the vtec lobe. so basically , above the set rpm , at WOT , vtec is engaged.

ooooooh, that makes sense, cuz when im light ont he throttle i can go all the way to redline and there is nothing...but when im at even like 3k at WOT it sounds like vtec engages, thanks guys, i thought vtec-e was different, and that makes sense...anyone wanna verify?
