Distributor Help....
94 prelude si with a H23 motor. Check Engine Light came on and the code was 9. My buddy told me that it was in the distributor, do i have to replace the whole distributor or can i just buy a sensor? Or is the sensor even in the distributor?
It helps to say what code 9 is, more people will tell you what they think about what the problem of the code is, most folks do not keep a list of definitions but everyone is willing to help, even if it is just an (educated) guess.
If code 9 is a TDC or CID or CKP code, you cannot buy the sensor, get a complete SUB ASSY distributor and transfer over your coil and ignitior, if your cap does not have brown rusty looking dust in it then transfer the cap and rotor also, if it has high milage then change it as part of a tune up now. If your coil and / or ignitor are external, then forget I mentioned it, just buy a sub assy from the dealer ONLY, their price is fair.
If a code 9 is an ignitor code then more to follow.

And do the work yourself, it's easy. When I first got my lude about 2.5 years ago the dizzy went out and a place charged me $720 for a new one installed. Yeah, I didn't know anything about Hondas, and had no idea how easy it was to install a distributor. I put a new one on my new motor in this last summer, it took maybe 20 minutes at most.
