B16A Spark Plug/Wires
Hey guys a few weeks ago i was cleaning the contact where the spark plug wires enter the distributor and i noticed that in one spark plug wire there was no longer a copper connector. As i started my car back up it ran fine, so i left it as is for a while. One day my car wouldnt start up so i had to diagnose that the car wasnt starting from what happend. So i went down to pep boys and bought new spark plug and wires. I bought ngk V power spark plugs and 7mm magnetic supressor wires (same wires i had on before). From a quick look these wires look identical, but when i measured the length of the spark plug wire part that goes down into the cylinder(area that connects to the Spark plug) this was off. Also the grommets that go around the spark plug side that connect to the distributor fit too snug. The first night i drove the car, it ran perfect. Today as i started driving it, it misfired and stalled out and wouldnt start up. After a couple minutes the car started up, but ran like **** ocassionally misfiring. I thought this was due to a spark plug wire being disconnected, but none of them were disconnected. Over a 3-4 mile drive this happend do me 3 times where the car just started misfiring and stalled out. And started up after waiting a few minutes. I truly believe that this has something to due with the spark but i am not mechannically inclined enough to diagnose this problem on my own so i am going to leave it up to the experts, You Guys. Thanks.

If the wires don't fit, you're making poor or no contact. The spark voltage is high enough to jump a gap, but the spark plug already has a 1.1mm gap. Adding the gap from a poor connection may be enough to cause a misfire. I almost replaced my plug wires with aftermarkets one time, but I didn't like the fit. I went with OEM wires.
If that does not solve your problem, you may want to check or replace your distributor cap and rotor. If you replace them, again I highly recomend OEM.
