did u finally determine the rings are the problem?

260 w/ rings isnt bad, just make sure the seller is legit. I think I paid 275 w/ rings back in the day.

yeah it's going to be the rings, nothing was leaking out from the exhaust or intake valves when we did the leakdown test...

are they oversized pistons? I didnt get oversized when I was using them, and my car smoked like crazy and burned tons of oil. I think the block needed to be rebored or honed or something. I dont know much about ring gaps and bore sizes. whoever is doing your build just make sure they know what they are doing.

edit: sorry Im thinking of CTR pistons

im going .25 o/s...dont worry it will be built by someone who knows what they are doing...

it's going to be a mild build...

maybe you didnt have the rings "clocked" right?

thanks for the doing all the research....

I've been meaning to pick these up for a long time, but I guess it still has to wait till I check the bores of the block...whether to go OS or standard...

I went with the os ones to keep my fresh rebuild from smoking.
