hey i've got all the hardware to do the swap from drum to disc i was wondering what where the proportioning valve numbers supposed to be on my stock i have 13/16. anyone who knows it would really help me out. thanks!

p.s. tried to search but found little info on prop valve.

 

from what i remember u need a 40/40 prop valve

someone correct me if thats not right.

 

hey just wondering, but i'm sure that i'll need new E-brake cables the ones i got are from an integra.

You're looking at your brake master cylinder...

The proportion valve looks like this:



located on the firewall in the center. stock one for drums should say 30/30 or 30/40 I forget which.

 

Its 4040 not 40/40 and 3030 not 30/30. But anyhow, for 92-95 civics you want the 4040 as stated, and the bigger m/c if you want, but the rear disc calipers take about the same fluid volume as the rear drum wheel cylinders, but then piston surface area and pressures etc playa role.

On the 96-00 civics all non-ex and non abs civic coupes and hatchbacks take the same prop valve as the 4-disc Si.

 

if ur staying with ur stock front brakes u dont need to swap out the prop valve. i have 00 civic si rear disks on my 95 cx and i didnt change the prop valve and it stop soo much better than before. pedal feel is instant too.
Also your integra rear e-brakes should work fine. i have ITR's on my cx.
you only need the prop valve and MC if your upgrading the front brakes to integra's or bigger.

I don't think thats true. Since EX/LX models with ABS came with front brakes that are the same as Integra fronts and they still have 3030

this is true. Im not sure if the caliper piston size is the same. that might be the difference thats why it still had the 3030 prop valve. I know that the integra caliper piston is bigger than the 00 civic si piston.

But it is recommended to upgrade the prop valve and MC/BB when upgrading from 9" civic brakes to 10" brakes.

i actually also have GSR fronts to help with the stopping lol thanks everyone for your advice! i'll let you know how things go planning on this weekend i'll post with pics if i get enough pos feedback ???? ???? or are there too many threads with such pics...? thanks again to the EG chassis HT-ers

But when you have a civic w/ stock rear drums and hardlines which cater to the design of the stock propvalve,
Q: Will you need to swap hardlines.. cause i don't think they line up the same as the 40/40 .. the two valves are shaped differntly..
