Default my new axles 5 lug or not?

i building a 92 da. i want to convert to five lug and run bigger brakes. im considering having my new hubs made to a 5x114 bolt pattern. I've already talked to the people that make them and they said that would be ok. so now im wondering what kinda rotor and caliper setups i could choose from. i searched the topic, but couldn't find anything real specific about a 92 integra. any suggestions?

Bigger brakes? Why dont you just buy a big brake kit? personally I dont think it would be that safe/reliable to redrill your hubs to make them fit 5 lugs.

no, the company that makes the axles offers hubs with the new axles. im not redrilling any hubs, that would be ludacris! big brake kits require most of the time 17" wheel and up. most drag radials are 16" or below.

So what again is the question? If you're going five lug, can't you use any Honda five lug brakes? you can buy calipers and rotors for an ITR or NSX, can't you? or like the guy above said, just get a big brake kit?

does anyone know what rotor (itr or nsx) is bigger in diameter? and just outta curiosity does the rotors have to match to calipers? for example: ITR disc and nsx calipers or vice verse?

rotor and caliper size have to match, the prelude vtec, itr, legend and nsx use 11.1" rotors. The legend GS calipers are the largest, the NSX next (might be the same size), then the ITR and prelude vtecs....unless you throw in the newer models ofcourse. Some of the TL brakes are larger and Im sure the RLs are as well.

Almost positive they are identical in size just they're kinda flipped sorta....(bleeder on opposite ends!)

And chances are this is just unnecessary. Will you be tracking the car....if so how often...and how hard will you be pushing the car. More than likely just some Brembo blanks and some nice pads will do the job that you need. You may just be spending/wasting money when it could be put to better use.

But nothing wrong with some 5 luggin' !

So its cool to upgrade to 5 lug for no real reason, to quote you, "chances are this is just unnecessary." but bigger brakes aren't cool to have? Chances are the car will drive with neither....I'd do brakes before 5 lug though.

im not going to be racing the car everyday. i just want to upgrade my brakes. i just recently bought a gt35r. that turbo on my engine is gonna scream! going real fast is fun, until you have to hit the brakes! i just want my brakes not to shake during hard braking.

i dont want anything super fancy, i just want my 60-0 time to improve! and still be able to run whatever size rim i choose, and not be stuck using 17" wheels.

what year legend GS calipers should i ask for? anyone know where i should go to get some rotors? or should i order the disc to match the calipers?

im thinking legend capliers, with itr (brembo blanks) disc? on da. what do you think? oh yeah, i plan on using a 1 inch master cylinder.

Your biggest concern should not lie in the brakes you choose, but rather the tires you choose.

Bigger brakes will increase your braking torque, but not necessarily shorten your braking distance. That's where the tires count the most. If you're concerned about braking distance, get softer sticker tires and then go from there.

Although bigger rotors and more pad surface area will increase brake power, all the power in the world wont help if you come screeching to a halt when your tires lock up and skid.

Shaking under hard braking is caused by a rotor defect/failure, if you want to fix that, just get new rotors and pads. Also, stock GSR brakes can lock up the wheels (or atleast one of them) at 60mph, hell, they locked up my azenis at 60mph.

That should explain all about the brakes.
