How do adjust power steering belt tension
Hey I had my engine rebuilt and now the power steering pump is clicking like mad. Someone suggested the belt tension might be wrong. How tight should it be and how do I make the adjustments? Thanks, I'm not too savy, can change my oil and do brakes thats about it, so if you can be specific for a DUMMY that would be great
on the power steering pump there will be a bolt that has two nuts on it thats the one you will need to use for adjusting tension. you need to loosen the mounting bolts too or you wont be able to budge it. its fairly easy get confident and get in there
Yeah, once you find out how to do it you can swap it in less than 10 mins.
I could do it in 5 on my old car without a/c. If I still had my 4th gen i'd remember.

exactly. loosen the 3 mounting bolts on the side, then that one tensioning bolt sticking up.
